Through the Prof. Charles Ochie Educational Foundation, he is currently focused on expanding educational opportunities for underserved children in his hometown of Aguleri and surrounding communities. The foundation sponsors students at the elementary, secondary, and university levels, assisting with school fees and other educational needs. As part of this vision, Dr. Ochie has acquired twenty plots of land in Aguleri and is working to raise funds to establish the Aguleri Technical and Vocational Institute, which will include technical training programs as well as attached elementary and high school programs that will serve as feeder institutions. The goal of this initiative is to provide quality education and practical technical skills that will enhance employment opportunities for young people in Aguleri and neighboring communities. Dr. Ochie welcomes and deeply appreciates the support of donors who share this vision educational development.
Dr. Ochie is married to Mrs. Chinelo Ochie, and together they are blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.
Our overarching goal is to create meaningful opportunities for underprivileged youth and women in the Omambala area to acquire practical, marketable technical skills that foster economic empowerment and long-term self-sufficiency. These skills include, but are not limited to, electrical installation, welding and fabrication, carpentry, plumbing, tailoring and fashion design, ICT and computer literacy, automotive repair, and agro-processing.
In many communities across the Omambala region, access to formal education remains limited, leaving a significant number of young people and underprivileged women without employable skills. As a result, many are left to roam the streets without viable means of livelihood, perpetuating cycles of poverty and economic dependency.
In response to this pressing need, the Ochie Foundation has acquired 20 plots of land in Aguleri and has developed plans for the establishment of the Aguleri Technical and Vocational Institute. This institute is envisioned as a transformative center that will provide access to quality technical and vocational education for the educationally underserved, equipping them with the skills necessary to secure employment or become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
We are currently seeking financial support and strategic partnerships to bring this vision to reality. Your assistance will play a critical role in constructing and equipping this institute, thereby opening pathways to opportunity, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods for the people of Omambala.
